When walking, you can lose weight faster if you vary your walks throughout the week. For  3 days a week, focus on timing your walks. Aim to walk for at least 30 minutes each day at a comfortable pace.

For 1 or 2 days a week, add in short bouts of walking faster, then slow back down. Aim to walk fast for 2-5 minutes at a time, and then resume a comfortable pace for 2-5 minutes.

The Best Way to Burn Fat for Women

January 8, 2009 by mrogers · Leave a Comment

You may have noticed that men and women tend to lose weight differently.  It seems that men often lose more weight quickly, while it takes a woman longer to lose the same amount of weight. For women, the best way to burn fat can be to continue to eat fats in her diet so that her body doesn’t feel that it is going into starvation mode.  Some studies have shown that eating moderate amounts of fats can actually help women burn more fat than filling their diets with low and no fat options.

The best way to burn fat is not to completely deprive yourself, but to eat things you want in moderation. That doesn’t mean eating cheeseburgers every day for lunch, but choosing a cheeseburger every few weeks can help you lose weight since you won’t go overboard on other days — knowing that you have planned for a cheeseburger.

If you’ve found yourself eating too much, you need to step up your workouts in order to burn the calories that you’ve taken in. Everyone has phases when they overeat, but instead of spending too much time on regret, spend time exercising more to make up for the chocolate cake and calorie-laden drinks. Once the calories have been consumed, the only step left is to burn the calories off.

Look at your calendar and fit in an extra 30 minutes of exercise for the next 2 weeks. That should be enough extra exercise to burn the calories from one or two days of falling off the healthy eating wagon. At the end of those 2 weeks, you will likely have lost some additional weight as well!

If you’re looking for a fun, new way to burn calories, try to burn calories by hula hooping!  The fun hoop of your childhood can put new life into your workouts and help you burn calories by having fun! You can pick up hula hoops at most mass merchandisers, and I’ve even seen them at the dollar store.

Hula hooping requires you to swivel your hips to keep the hoop spinning around your waist. It’s a great workout that burns calories and helps shape your waist and abdomen.  It is a unique exercise that tones and strengthens your external and internal oblique abdominal muscles.

It may seem hard at first, but with practice, you’ll be swinging that hoop easily for 10-20 minutes as part of your workout. Burn calories by hula hooping and lose weight, too!
