3 Easy Ways to Burn Calories

It’s nice to have a few easy ways to burn calories built into your routine. You have to burn about 3500 calories more than you consume in order to lose one pound of weight. That sounds like quite a bit, but if you break it down and stay focused, it can become second nature to burn calories easily.

  1. Instead of piling things at the bottom of the stairs to take upstairs, take each item up individually as you find it. Run up the stairs instead of walking. It takes the same amount of time, but gets your heart working a bit more than it was.
  2. Wash your car by hand instead of going through a drive through car wash. You’ll burn more calories, and probably have a cleaner car to boot!
  3. Chew sugarless gum. You’ll burn around 11 calories an hour just by chewing gum. It may not seem like much, but every calorie burned adds up, plus you won’t be snacking on high calorie treats when you have gum in your mouth. That is a truly easy way to burn calories!

To burn more calories, you must look at your daily routines differently and try to figure out ways to move more throughout your day.  Write down a few more easy ways to burn calories and post them on your mirror to remind you about them.
