3 Fun Winter Activities That Burn Calories

When the weather turns cold, it’s easy to want to curl up under blankets rather than participate in activities that burn calories. Just because the temperatures drop doesn’t mean that your workouts should drop as well! Here are 3 fun winter activities that burn calories:

  1. Talk a walk through the winter wonderland! If there’s snow on the ground, you’ll get a better workout and burn more calories than if you walk on a clear path. Bundle up warmly and enjoy a brisk walk.
  2. Shovel your neighbor’s walk.  After you’ve shoveled your own drive and walkway, use that energy to shovel a neighbor’s walkway. It’s another activity that burns calories, and helps out your neighbor as well.
  3. Go ice skating. Ice skating is excellent exercise and burns many calories.

There are many activities that burn calories.  In fact, it’s been shown that exercising outdoors in the winter burns MORE calories than similar summer activities!
