Your Personal Calorie Burn Chart

It is helpful to have an idea of how many calories different activities burn. By making your personal calorie burn chart, you’ll be able to make better choices about activities and match them to your current needs.
A personal calorie burn chart will list activities that you like to do, currently do, and also perhaps that you would like to start doing. With just a little research, you can find a calorie burn chart online that will list hundreds of different activities. On your list, you should also include things like watching television and doing housework, if those are activities that fill your days.
By keeping your personal calorie burn chart handy, you can choose activities that will burn the most calories and help you meet your goals. If you have had an active day, you can also feel better about relaxing in front of the television, knowing you’ve already burned a thousand or more calories!

Post a Calorie Burn Chart

A calorie burn chart is a useful tool to use when losing weight. You can make it a motivational tool as well by posting it on your refrigerator.
Choose your favorite foods (and those that make you cheat on your diet) and write them down on a piece of paper. If you can find a picture of the food, go ahead and include that as well. Then, write down how many calories in a single serving. Finally, figure out how much exercise it will take to burn off those calories.
The next time you reach into the refrigerator to finish a piece of cheesecake, you will be reminded of how much farther you’ll need to run, or how many more laps you’ll need to swim in order to burn off that piece of cheesecake!

Calorie Burn Chart

When you’re choosing which exercise to perform, sometimes it’s handy to have a calorie burn chart. You can choose an exercise that fits into your time constraints, or even your mood, more effectively by knowing how many calories you’ll burn. There are many calorie burn charts available, but I thought I’d share just a few common exercises and their expected calorie burns if you performed the activity for an hour:
- Running, 10mph (6 minute mile) — 1126 calories
- Running, 5mph (12 minute mile) — 563 calories
- Walking, 3mph, moderate pace — 246 calories
- Swimming, freestyle, vigorous pace — 704 calories
- Bicycling, light effort — 429 calories
- Aerobic, low impact — 357 calories
- Aerobic, high impact – 500 calories
The chart assumes a person weighs 150 lbs, as most calorie burn charts do. If you weigh more, you will burn more calories and if you weigh less, you will burn fewer calories. Keep in mind, too, if you track your calories burned on a piece of exercise equipment. If it doesn’t ask for your weight, it assumes calorie burn for a 150 lb person.
